SADDLE CONDITION
We will not sell a saddle that is not safe/fit
to ride.
| This means that a "5" does not have a broken tree or any structural
damage that would make it other than a perfectly usable saddle. |
|
|
CONDITION CODE |
MEANING |
| 1 |
Like new (Essentially New) - may have a mark or two from leathers -
but often a trade in from a customer who has purchased the saddle from
a shop that does not have a "Trial Ride" policy. |
| 2 |
Excellent - Nearly new. Usually a trade in from a customer who respects
their Tack - and is growing in the sport. Has now had the opportunity to
upgrade their equipment - or has purchased another horse - which the saddle
no longer fits. |
| 3 |
Very Good - Typically a saddle - well maintained - 3 to 5 years normal
wear. |
| 4 |
Good - Typically a well worn - well maintained saddle - usually 5 or
more years old. (This could include a 20 year old saddle - and there are
a lot of 30 year old saddles that fit into "3" above based on their condition.)
Generally if a saddle is known to be 5 or more years old we will put it
in this category. If an older saddle is in exceptional condition - we will
surely note it!! (A saddle in this category may also have had minor repairs
- and if known - we will note it.) |
| 5 |
Usable (Not Broken) - Typical of a good saddle that has served well.
There is no argument from, or shortage of, riders who desire the fit and
performance of a $2000++ saddle - but are early in the sport and will recieve
exceptional service from a platform that may otherwise be out of economic
reach. (A saddle in this category may possibly require minor repairs -
in which case we will note it.) |
